How would you feel if this was you & would it change your opinion on illegal immigration?

20 Jul

A woman who purchased a Texas woman’s name and social security number to get a job in Alamance County was charged with identity theft.

Alamance County Sheriff’s Department received a call from Veronica Arias of Combes, Texas last week. Arias reported to authorities that someone was using her name and social security number, according to a sheriff’s department news release.

“Mrs. Arias has been contacted by the Internal Revenue Service in reference to unreported earnings in Alamance County,” the release states. “The Social Security Administration advised her that the individual was using her social security number for employment with Honda Power Equipment in Swepsonville.”

Honda officials verified that they had an employee using that name and social security number. After an investigation, the sheriff’s department determined that Maria Sanchez, 30, of Ivey Road, Graham was allegedly using Arias’ information.

“Mrs. Sanchez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, advised that she purchased the name and social security number but refused to discuss how the information was obtained,” the release states.

Sanchez was charged with identity theft and was placed in Alamance County jail under $10,000 bond.

What do you think of this situation?

14 Jul

One of the two women who interviewed me at Hennepin Sheriff’s Office wrote an answer that I did not even say on the packet she had of questions to ask me. I am so confident of this that if they do a cross comparison of what both interviewers wrote they would see they don’t match. When she asked me something very close to “Have you ever been disciplined or been spoken to about an error you made” I responded at Pearson Education we were given reports of our errors so we can improve ourselves. It was after I said this that she started writing a whole lot of words with a facial expression that is very odd and hard to explain. They were surprised at my high rate of typing 90wpm with 1 error which I did with my previous sheriffs office interview in which I was told that I will be put on the eligible list and the position was placed on hold due to budget deficits and given a business card of the Supervisor.

Back to the recent sheriffs interview, I even noticed her make a sort of circle on the paper after she finished writing and I am 100% sure she wrote things that I did not even say. I think it’s because I am Somali and physically look different that caused her to react differently to my answer than she would have if it was a person from America. After she got done writing she didn’t give me any further info (such as a business card) and said we will get back within 2 weeks. She sent me a letter saying “the decision was a hard one.”

I don’t care if I am not offered a position what is disturbing is the fact that she is writing things people don’t even say because of some sort of inner stereotype she has that she may not even be aware of. I’ve been stereotyped quite often in my life because I physically look young from the outside but at the same time I was fortunate enough to get hired by Human Services twice.

I have employment history with the County which has allowed me to get called for interviews and offered 2 Human Services Department position.

I just passed the written and video exam for the Detention Deputy and strength, agility and psychological are next and I hope I pass all and get offered the position.
A lady friend of mine who also worked at Human Services at the same time as the interview told me that they did not even sent her a letter like they did with me. She is also African American like me. In my opinion, if a person takes the time to come to an interview and in my case even take time off from Human Services that person should at least get a letter notification.

This is for kori?

20 Jun

This kid asked if you have commited a felony in your life can u get into law enforcement. and everyone who replied said “no” that is INCORRECT
I am a deputy sheriff in a LARGE county not a hick village, and I commited a felony when I was 18, I won’t say it is easy but it is possible. Here is the only way I know works, a felony bars you from two very important things
The right to own or possess a firearm and the right to serve in public office
Being a law enforcement officer you are in public office and you need the right to bear arms, that isn’t all you also have to be sworn in and the felony prohibits it. You can handle this in only these ways an EXPUNGMENT DOES allow you to serve in law enforcment LEGALLY a PARDON does also, those are the ONLY ways to pass The Sheriffs standards, now for city law enforcement You need all of your civil rights restored to you, they may not WANT to hire you but you are NOT BARRED from employment. I am proof not many know what they are talking about

Will Obama down play this Terror suspect may be headed to Texas through Mexico?

08 Jun

Houston police and Harris County Sheriff’s deputies to keep their eyes open for a potential terrorist.

The alert focuses on Mohamed Ali, a suspected member of the terrorist group Al Shabaab. It indicates he may be traveling to the U.S. through Mexico.

Al Shabaab is a terrorist group based in Somalia with links to the Somali attacks dramatized in the movie “Blackhawk Down.” A few months ago, the group announced its allegiance to Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden.

“[Al Shabaab operatives] are certainly a real threat to U.S. security and an increasing threat to U.S. security,” said Rice University Baker Institute Fellow Joan Neuhaus Schaan.

The route from Somalia to Texas is shorter than Americans would like to think. It goes through Mexico. Two weeks ago, a federal indictment was filed in San Antonio against a Somali citizen. It alleges Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane led a “large-scale smuggling enterprise,” moving east Africans into the U.S., including members of a terrorist group called AIAI.

“It was hundreds of individuals,” Neuhaus Schaan said, in referrence to the indictment.

The current indictment has three counts for making false statements in regard to immigration for allegedly lying about his ties to terrorist groups.

Why would Al Shabaab come to the U.S?

“Either to recruit provide more funding or serve as operatives or sleepers for some future activity,” Neuhaus Schaan said.

If authorities are right, Mohamed Ali is hardly alone and a terror network is following well-worn human smuggling routes into the Lone Star State.

“There would be a reasonable chance to have him [Mohamed Ali] coming through Houston,” Neuhaus Schaan said. “They [Al Shabaab] have been pretty busy in Texas.”

07 Jun

i think this country is getting too harsh on some things. these girls played a little prank like kids do, and they get EXPELLED. geez!!!! give them a little community service or something, good lord. at this rate, kids will be scared to do anything fun.

“TRENTON, Ohio – Two teenage girls posted a fake announcement on their school district’s Web site that said school was closed for the day due to winter weather, police said.

The notice, posted Monday, confused many parents — snow was not in the forecast — and persuaded some students to stay home.

The two Edgewood High School students, whose names were not released, were charged in juvenile court on Friday and face expulsion. One of the girls, 16, was charged with delinquency by unauthorized use of a computer and by reason of records tampering. The other, 17, was charged with delinquency by reason of complicity, Sheriff’s Sgt. Monte Mayer said.

The company that runs the Web site, RCH Networks Inc., said the system was not hacked

Am I liable to pay rent in this situation?

04 Jun

My husband and our son currently live in a townhouse, and have lived here for about 7 months. It’s a smaller building, we are 1 of 4 units in the building. On Friday afternoon, someone came to our door serving us foreclosure papers, and letting us know the property will be up for sheriffs auction on December 3rd, however, we have 6 months to live at the property after the sheriffs auction. Being that the property is in foreclosure (and has been for several months, and we’ve also found out that the landlord has not been paying the mortgage at all, that everyone’s rent has been going directly into his pocket every month..) Are we still liable to pay him rent for the remaining months? He told us ‘whoever decides they don’t have to pay rent this month will be evicted’.. however, we also found that the company who wrote up our lease agreement is no longer in business. Does that make the lease null in void? There is absolutely nothing in our lease about foreclosure. I just want to know what our responsibilites and what not are in this situation. Thank you!

UPDATE: Woman dies after van carrying immigrants rolled over

Web Posted: 10/26/2006 05:44 PM CDT

By Mariano Castillo
Express-News Border Bureau

LAREDO – One woman died and about 20 others were injured Wednesday night when a passenger van stuffed with as many as 50 undocumented immigrants rolled over on a Zapata County road.
The Department of Public Safety and Zapata County Sheriff’s office this morning continued to piece together details of the incident, which happened at 6 p.m.

“I have not seen anything like that in my 30-year career,” Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez said.

The van was speeding along FM 2687, about 12 miles easy of U.S. 83, when a tire apparently blew out, causing the van to roll over, Gonzalez said.

Several of the injured told deputies that as many as 50 people were stuffed inside the van, Gonzalez said.

One unidentified woman was killed, and about 20 were rushed to hospitals in Laredo, Rio Grande City and McAllen.

The event triggered an emergency contingency plan in Laredo called “Operation Rio,” where hospitals called in all available resources for mass triage, Laredo Fire Department spokesman Eloy Vega said.

Most of the passengers were ejected from the van, causing head injuries, chest injuries and fractures, Vega said.

The Border Patrol helped transport the injured and used a helicopter to find survivors who fled, spokeswoman Sara Melendez said.

DPS officials said details would be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

No arrests had been made as of this morning, but authorities were looking at a suspect linked with the smuggling operation who was not at the scene, Gonzalez said.

Do you think this guy is worthy of a Darwin Award?

30 May

Summerville, SC – A scary night for people at an area fast food restaurant after authorities say a man robbed it at gunpoint. It happened around 8:30 Sunday night at the KFC on Main Street, in Summerville. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says a clerk was taking a break outside when a suspect held a gun to him, marched him back in the store, and demanded cash. Authorities say the suspect slipped and fell trying to get away, dropping the cash. They believe his gun accidentally fired when the suspect fell– no one was hurt. The suspect is in custody.
True, he is still alive. Ok, more like a dumb crimminal award instead of a Darwin Award. ( ^ _ ^ )

What really is at stake in this election?

29 May

A Word About Sarah Palin

45 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. subpoenaed the conscience of America and drove the injustice of segregation like a wedge into the soul of the nation. The wedge has been driven again. When Senator John McCain courageously chose Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate, he drove family values back into the conscience of America.
The liberal media played into the hands of a Higher Wisdom when they injected former Vice President Dan Quayle into the debate by comparing Governor Palin to Dan Quayle. Now, everyone is beginning to realize that this election is not about a man’s charisma or his nebulous notion of change. No. This election is a battle for family values and to the victor goes the soul of this nation.
Governor Palin is more than just a brilliant choice for Vice President. She and her family stand as a sign and a wonder for life and for children. They are a living parable parading in blazing Technicolor before the eyes of the whole nation. This goes way beyond elections. This is about us healing our families, regaining moral responsibility, and exhibiting forgiveness.
Palin boldly stood by her conviction that all life is sacred and chose to have her Down Syndrome child while leading her state. Senator Barack Obama, on the other hand, declared that the first thing he will do as President is pass the Freedom of Choice Act, which will remove every restriction from all abortion procedures, including many restrictions that most Americans agree with, By doing this, he will open up the doors to promote deviant sex education to kindergarteners and exclude even parents from their right to know of their underage daughter’s potential abortion.
When the pregnancy of her 17-year-old daughter became an insensitive liberal media circus, we were given a rare view into love and support as Governor Palin embraced her grandchild in her daughter’s womb as a blessing. Again, on the other hand, Obama was once quoted as saying that if his two daughters made a “mistake” and became pregnant, he would not want them to be “punished” with babies. What a stark contrast of the value of human life!
The ideological beast of Obama’s worldview has been drawn out of its lair and now stands naked and exposed by Palin’s compassion and conviction. The beast is not just Quayle hunting. It is hunting our children, our nation’s destiny, and us. The rage of the media against Palin simply further exposes the moral bankruptcy, bigotry, and lack of compassion of liberalism. The media, Obama’s court prophets, have become Selma’s new sheriffs of the South beating the new heirs of the civil rights movement – the millions of unborn children attacked in the womb and countless women hurt by abortion – with their journalistic Billy Clubs and loud hectoring.
With his choice of Governor Palin as his running mate, John McCain has once again gone to war. However, this time, not in the distant lands of Vietnam and Iraq, but he has gone to war for America, for our families, and for our children. And this war, we cannot afford to lose.

Xeboprime – It is obvious that you are ignorant to the danger you place the children of this nation in by supporting Obama. Perhaps you don’t have any children, or you aren’t thankful that they were not part of the 40 million plus helpless infants slaughtered in their mother’s wombs since Roe was passed into law. Perhaps you cannot grasp the horrendous truth of what this has done to America! Consider how many of the babies killed would now be in school preparing to be useful and productive citizens of this nation. Consider how they would have helped slow down the crumbling Social Security system. Consider how many scientists, artists, musicians and even politicians of note could have come from this group. If you believe abortion is not a holacost that surpasses the brutality of Hitler you are indeed morally bankrupt! If you refuse to see all the history of Obama beyond this issue you are willfully blind to truth!
Superman at 61 – Your comments are pathetic and insensitive. My Mother died at age 87 and was a wonderful woman, and I am insulted by our foolish arrogance toward someone you never met and know nothing about.

You are the one who is living a lie. 2008 is the year when you will sell your soul or wake up to the danger that Obama and his liberal cronies and radical Islamic allies present to our country!

Get your head out of the sand and try looking at the issue from both sides. I am an independent voter and don’t have the liberal blinders on to keep me from thinking rationally. You do!
To the person whose name is not worthy to repeat I say this about the war. Your boy Obama secretly met with the Iraqi leadership and requested an extension to the troop withdrawal that would last until the election was decided. It was verified on national and international tv by the Iraqi leadership. He is guilty of un-American activities and should be tried for treason against this country.

It didn’t matter to him that more soldiers could die during the delay because he was more interested in looking good if he could be the one who brought the troops home after the election. His many campaign promises to bring them back as soon as possible are a deliberate lie as has been revealed in this sneaky and dishonorable act. Look it up! It is not Republican propaganda, but available to anyone who is interested in knowing the truth.

Is this A legal way to keep a gun in my car in Los Angeles (No Gun Permits Here)?

29 May

My Dad and I got caught on the wrong side of town during the Rodney King Riots in Los Angeles.

These Riots were so bad that they didn’t bother calling out the National Guard. They called out the Marines and the Army. They had M-1 Abrams Tanks driving by and Bradley Armored Vechicles. Things were so bad they had F-15 Eagles and Apache Attack helicopters flying over to the remind the tens of thousands of gang members (18th Street Gang for example, alone has over 10,000 members) that the Federal Government still existed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koreatown,_Los_Angeles,_California

“By the time the riots ended, 54 lives were lost, 2,383 people injured (228 critical), 12,111 arrested, 7,001 fires set, 1,400 structures destroyed, 3,100 businesses looted, and an estimated material damage of $1 billion.[8] Over 15,000 military and federal officers with 2,000 military Humvees, 20 M1A1 Abrams tanks, 5 AH-64 Apache helicopters, and the visual presence of F-15 fighters complimented the combined police presence of 16,000 officers.”

So I think, it’s a good idea to keep some food, water, spare clothes, blankets and a gun in my car.

The way I do this, is I buy a hunting license every year, and then buy a Pig Tag. Wild Pig/Boar is open year round in California. So I keep a Winchester .30-30, in the trunk, and a box of .30-30 shells in the glove box. So if a cop stops me I just tell him I am a hunter, and I am going Boar Hunting this weekend.

AND Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles only gives out guns permits to billionaires or close friends of the Chief, the Sheriff, or the Mayor.

Is this a good idea?
