Does Los Angeles county Probation Department offfer overtime for Deputy Probation Officers?

30 Mar

I have applied as a deputy probation officer for los angeles county probation department. I want to know if they offer overtime for probation officers. the base salary for officer starts with $46,000 per years. However i have a friend who’s a deputy sheriff and one as a fire fighter, they make around the same salary, however they take home over $100,000 per year due to having overtime. I wondered if l.a. county probation department has the same opportunity. I need honest answers please. thank you all.

County Sheriff salaries with overtime?

09 Mar

I am contemplating going to our local law enforcement school in order to become either a city cop, or a county sheriff. I’m not sure which makes more, but is overtime possible with law enforcement jobs or is advancement positions possible? I’ve always wanted to be a cop, and am willing to work up to 12hrs/day if that means more money while I’m young to contribute to retirement.
