I really want to become a Police Officer. I applied for Deputy Sheriff but they froze my application until I was able to fix my credit. The economy is really bad right now so it’s very difficult to pay off my debt. (That was pushed onto me after my divorce. My ex husband filed B.K. after maxing his cards on his mistress.)
Also, I’m concerned about me age. I’m 30 years old and I’m afraid that by the time I fix all my debt I’ll be 35 or older.
It’s hard enough now keeping up with these kids in the pre academy. They pass me up wearing their high school cross country t-shirts! Ugh! lol!
Any Advise… This is a career that my heart is craving.
BTW- I live in L.A.
Wow, I would join the Military. But I’m a single mom of 2. Just being a Cop is gonna be a challange but my kids are giving alot of support.

Why do voters show little interest in local elections?
I hope what happened In the county in which I live does not reflect what goes on nationwide, but yesterday less than 13 percent of the registered voters turned out for the primaries…pathetic! We were voting for Sheriff, County Commissioners, School Board members, Reps, Senators, and so forth. I would be interested in hearing your opinion on the lack of interest at the local level. Thank you in advance!
This is what one of the candidates said after the votes were counted: “The low voter turnout sends a terrible message,” he said. “I am disappointed personally and as a candidate.”
Think this is little Caylee? Does it mean her mother did it?
Stumbled accross this on Yahoo News;
“Orange County Sheriffs Department investigators gather in an area where the skeletal remains of a child were found in Orlando, Fla., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. The area is less than a half-mile from the Orlando home of missing 3-year old Caylee Anthony”
I’ve been following this since the beginning and I have to say the evidence against her has convinced me she’s done it or at the very least, heavily involved. Now that they’ve found a child’s remains so close to her home, what do you think?
They further expanded the news article to include many things, but also that the DA didn’t think the death penalty would be a good idea for this case

from Ariz in Fla…He really keeps his people safe. there have been a lot of kidnapping of children there. Something needs to be done. Any suggestions? More law officers or stiffer penalties?

Four northwest Arkansas police agencies have signed an agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to enforce federal immigration law.
Nineteen trained officers from the Rogers and Springdale police departments and the Benton and Washington county sheriff’s offices will work on a newly created local task force with ICE agents. The agreement allows the officers to check the immigration status of the people they arrest and begin deportation proceedings against those in the country illegally.
ICE officials say the task force also will be able to target money laundering investigations, human trafficking, and document frauds and gangs.
The Arkansas State Police also is examining joining the ICE program.
Doesn’t every police department need to create such a task force nationwide?

Thanks to the 10th Admendant to the US Contitution, all states are different. In what states does this hold true that the sheriff can ONLY be arrested by the county coroner (provided he is in his own jurisdiction) ? And in what states can the sheriff be arrested by any police offcer? And where can this be documented?
Documentation; ie…. Article, section, sub-section, paragraph of State Constitution. I am most concerned with Pennsylvania but other State Constitutions will help also.
