Anyone else hear about this?

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Authorities say a 4-year-old girl died after she climbed into a washing machine and her little brother switched it on.

Orange County sheriff’s officials say Kayley Ishii apparently climbed into the front-loading washer Monday and her 15-month-old brother managed to start the device.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino says the machine’s controls were 20 inches from the floor and the start switch was a simple push button.

The girl was in the water-filled, tumbling machine for at least two minutes before her mother found her. Her death was ruled accidental.

Investigators say the mother could not explain why Kayley climbed inside the machine.

Says Amormino: “They don’t know if they were playing or what.”

Should female convicts be allowed to have abortions? Supreme Court refused to hear Maricopa Co Sheriff Arpaio?

This is NOT an argument against abortions in general–only as concerns female prisoners. No nastiness please!

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to consider an appeal from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on whether it should be forced to take female jail prisoners to abortion clinics.

Judges in the Maricopa County Superior Court and Arizona Court of Appeals ruled that the Sheriff’s Office must provide the transport. Sheriff Joe Arpaio took the case to the U.S. Supreme Court and was turned away.

Do you think this right should be taken away from convicts with the many others?

Oppositely, should they be allowed to have as many visits as needed with their partner to conceive? Have artificial insemination?

I would love to hear from both those for and against abortions. Please say which you are if you are comfortable doing so.
Is it fair that the Supreme Court refused to hear Arpaio’s argument?

How long til we hear an answer on a short sale house?

We looked at this great house and offered a few over asking. That was about a month ago. The house was so close to foreclosure that they pulled it from the County Sheriff’s sale. Every day I think that Today’s the day. We’ll hear something but every day no news. Their realtor said that he thought it would go fast. And to some extent he was right because we turned the offer over to him on a Monday and Monday even the Owner had accepted the deal. But now we’re waiting on the bank. Does anyone know the process that the banks go through and how long does it usually take? Should I start looking for another house that isn’t a short sale? Starting to feel like my life is in a holding pattern and I am not allowed to land.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A former teacher accused of having sex with students sent a letter of support to the jailed son of Hulk Hogan, authorities said.
Stephanie Ragusa, who is also in jail, sent the letter June 2 to 17-year-old Nick Bollea, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
The letter was intercepted by Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies after they recognized Ragusa’s name, the jail’s return address and her docket number on the envelope, authorities said. Bollea, who is serving an eight-month sentence on a charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury, was later given a copy of the letter.
Ragusa, 29, is facing charges of lewd or lascivious battery and unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The telephone at the office of Ragusa’s attorney rang unanswered Saturday.
Jim Bates, an attorney for Bollea, did not immediately return a message left at his office.
Ragusa doesn’t appear to have broken any rules, said J.D. Callaway, a sheriff’s spokesman.

School Threats Sweep Country
Many Schools Shut Down Since Virginia Tech Killings

Jeffery Thomas Carney allegedly threatened a school attack in Yuba City, Calif., that he said would dwarf the Virginia Tech attacks, has turned himself in to authorities.

Because of the threat, officials canceled classes and activities for Friday at school districts in Yuba and neighboring Sutter County, as well as at Yuba College.

The Sutter County sheriff said the man told a pastor that he had some sort of explosive device.

There has been a spate of threats since a Virginia Tech student killed 32 people on campus Monday before taking his own life.

A Web designer is accused of posting a bogus threat to kill 50 San Diego State University students.

And a high school student in Federal Way, Wash., was arrested after authorities said he brought three loaded guns and extra ammunition to school.

Scores of schools across the country have been shut down or evacuated since Monday.

Law enforcement officials say at least a dozen people have been arrested or are being investigated for the threats that began only hours after the shootings
