Found out two days ago from our ex owner that the house would be auctioned in one day and that within 24hrs of the auction if the property wasn’t vacated they would send an Orange County Sheriff to lock up the property. Anything on the premises will be confiscated and impounded and I’d be charged to get our belongings back. Seems harsh as we have been paying rent etc. Surely we must have some rights here. Please let me know if you have some advice for us. We have not received any formal written communication from the bank or anyone else. Thanks

to a peace officer any requested information within a ten day period or a warrant will be issued for your arrest? Supposedly this law was enacted under former Governor Grey Davis. An LA County Sheriff threatened one of my employees with arrest citing this law. I’m an ex cop and have never heard of such a thing. It sounds like it would circumvent the subpoena requirements if this was in fact true.
