My Son’s Doctor Bruised my son on September 10th, 2009 in Putnam County while giving him shots, because he would not stay still enough. My boyfriend and myself was already holding him down there was no need for him to grab my son’s arm the way he did. This was the third visit to this doctor in which he was too rough. Instead of asking him (a four year old) to sit up or lay down he yanked him up or down with force. If he can not handle is temper with children he should not be a pediatrician. That day fallowing the appointment when I noticed the bruise I went to The Department of Children and Families. They gave me the number to the abusive hotline. I than called the abusive hotline and they informed me that there is nothing they could do for me due to it was not a care giver that bruised my son. They than connected me to the Sheriff’s Office, in which they told me to come down to the Police Department to file a report. I did so, but when I got there the officer told me that they could not do any thing either. By law it would be to hard to prove it was intentional. The officer informed me that if I wanted to I could contact the Medical Licensing Board of Florida. I tried to locate the Medical Licensing Board of Florida by searching the web. I found it but had no luck with reporting abuse or anything about a doctor bruising my son.
If this was done by me I would be investigated by DCF and more, in which I would than most likely lose my son for a period of time or for ever or even do jail time. Let a doctor bruise a child and there is nothing to be done about it. Why is that?
What if your child was hurt by some one and there is nothing you can do about it, what would you do?
If you have any advice for me on how to deal with this please post back…
I have pictures of it and one is posted on my myspace page in my blogs. My url is: myspace.com/kissie_chris

Why was this doctor given a 2nd and 3rd visit with your son if he is too rough?
Why on earth would you bring him back to a doctor who was rough before?
Something is fishy here.

Write a complaint letter to the medical board and express your concerns. Then find a new doctor for your child. But children do not like shots and will resist and will bruise.
