Im trying to get on with my local sheriffs dept, and want to get my tongue pierced. Bad idea?

Im trying to get on with the sheriffs dept, but Ive been tossing around the idea of getting my tongue pierced. I already have both of my nipple pierced. I know that they make those clear plastic ones, and the even make flesh colored ones too. Some help from people who know what they are talking about would be great.

Well have you ever seen a cop with piercings before (especially tongue)?

    That should answer your question.

Life is about choices. You either choose to get in with the Sheriff’s office or you choose a tongue piercing.
I have never met a cop/sheriff with one. It is basically a matter of ethics and standards. It is the same with business.
Where I used to work, I was the HR. I never hired anyone with facial piercings. It was basically work ethics. Plus it looked bad for business.
You see them with tattoos, but never piercings. The only piercings I have ever seen on male cops is ears.
I kinda know a lot of cops…seeing how my dad is one.
Good luck in all of your endeavors.

I doubt it’d be a problem since you can put a retainer in and no one would even notice. Unless you go around telling people, no one will ever know. There are a lot of ways to hide a tongue piercing, and you should probably go to your local pro piercer and talk to them about your options.

Most people don’t even notice my hand piercing, which is very obvious, so no one should see your tongue piercing.

EDIT: Of course no one has seen a “cop with a pierced tongue”…because no cops stick their tongues out at you! Plenty of cops have tattoos and piercings…you just have to be looking for them to notice them.

I don’t know if I would want to work for a department that would allow it, but different departments have different rules so it’s hard to say yes or no. ai do know that a lot of departments are becoming more accepting of tattoos, as long as they’re done in good taste. This is not an easy profession to become a part of, so I would limit the amount of things that a department could look at as negative and go from there. Good luck

This might sound weird but the guy who pierced mine told me to never put plastic in my tongue. The best thing to do is to get a normal metal bar and paint the ball on the end with ‘nude’ or flesh coloured nail polish.

    Works a treat =]
